Alessandro Volta Google Doodle

November 6, 2019

The Search engine Google is showing an animated
Doodle on February 18, 2015 for the 270th Birthday of Alessandro Volta. Alessandro Volta is best known for his invention
of the electric cell and for his discovery of Methane. Volta was born in Italy on February 18, 1745. The battery made by Volta is credited as the
first electrochemical cell. It was called as “Voltaic Pile”. Volta was honored by Napoleon Bonaparte for
his works.

When I saw the Doodle for Volta today, I was having a recurring problem in which my Google region was misdirected to Brazil (that is, www.google.com was internally changed to www.google.co.br), despite the fact that I am in Georgia, USA and have a local IP assigned by AT&T.  After repeating the tedious research I did the last time this problem was detected (forcing the bookmark and home page to www.google.com/ncr), the Volta doodle disappeared!

Has Google decided NOT TO HONOR Volta's birthday in the United States, where we use more of his invention per capita than any other country???????
