Day 9 morning | Wheelchair Tennis highlights | Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

October 21, 2019

In the Wheelchair Tennis the Men’s Singles
Bronze Medal match saw Stephane Houdet of France take to the court against Belgium’s
Joachim Gerard. World number 1 and London 2012 silver medallist
Houdet was the favourite for this one, but found the 27-year-old Gerard in inspired form. We join the action in the first set with the scores tied at four games apiece. Having got the break Gerard was now serving for the set. Having taken the opening set Gerard then immediately put his opponent under pressure at the start of the second set. Gerard dominated the second set and at 5-2 was serving for the bronze medal.
