Ok, we're not going to turn into Willy Wonka and open a factory anytime soon, but it was very tasty & we learnt a lot! Obviously the more time and effort you put into it the smoother and awesome the potential flavours can be, but just give it a try & play with your food!

I watched ‘Todd’s kitchen’ make milk chocolate and he melted the coco butter, added coco powder, the a bit of salt(to enhance the flavour), added milk powder and icing sugar then pour it into a mould. I feel like in true Barry fashion you made it very complicated.😃

I prefer dark chocolate less sugar and when you realize you are addicted to sugar and stay away from it in drinks and processed junk after awhilr you wont be able to stand it including milk chocolate. Dark chocolate is your best bet

  • Reply Laura B. February 19, 2020 at 12:44 am

Baz, please keep an eye on Phoebes mental health. I know she’s growing up, but her eyes are growing dark. ❤️

The chocolate does look amazing though. You should do it again and make a peanut butter chocolate, or salted caramel. Good job team!

  • Reply The Vegan Potterhead February 20, 2020 at 12:40 pm

Could you guys please make some vegan chocolate? Just use dried soy milk or rice milk instead of cows breast milk. This is easy to get online and is so much better for the animals and the planet. Cheers!

  • Reply Claudia Askes-Blum February 20, 2020 at 1:20 pm

And now use that chocolate and make your own chocolate pudding with that 😉

  • Reply Phil C February 20, 2020 at 5:47 pm

paused @ 13:10 I sincerely hope you seasoned that mortar and pestle set looks identical to the one I just bought with rough unpolished interior – you grind up something like rice dry then add a bit of water or oil grind the resulting paste discard the gritty discoloured result then wash without detergent and repeat till the riceflour/ paste is pure white. I suspect you may have eaten chocolate with added granite grit.

  • Reply Lexi Potato February 20, 2020 at 7:53 pm

Do you use 25% of each ingredient for your milk chocolate?

  • Reply captainrobots February 20, 2020 at 9:01 pm

You just ate a nut that comes from fruit.

Also coffee “beans,” they are actually the seeds of the red, juicy, cherry-like coffee fruit.

Also, almonds are fruit but to eat the fruit it has to be eaten unripe to eat the actual fruit before it becomes hard and the thing we call the almonds is soft when unripe.

  • Reply Leon Evans February 20, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Barry, where did you get the coco beans from? You've inspired me to try and do this!

  • Reply Jolie Bonnette February 20, 2020 at 10:28 pm

Actually, a couple of pieces of dark chocolate a day are good for your brain. Neurologists also suggest eating some chocolate (dark is best) before studying or taking tests because the theobromine mixed with the sugar and caffeine in the chocolate help your brain function better. So it's not totally unhealthy if you don't overdo.

  • Reply Kim B, that's me February 21, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Just an idea: when you pour the chocolate into the mold, maybe have a cookie sheet under it so when you put it in the fridge it won't spill (in theory ha ha). If someone already suggested this, sorry, I'm too lazy to read through the 361 Comments to see if it was said already LOL.

I hope you still have the cocoa shells. You should Google: Barry Caullebaut cocoa shells.

It'll lead you to a large and respected cocoa company and their patent on the shells and their use for them.

They're actually really nutritious and can be used to many things, from making flower, using it in chocolate etc. Might be fun to do smth like this again, but use the shells as well. Even if you don't use them in the kitchen, grind them up and sprinkle them in your garden, free nutritions from your plants
