How to Use Weight Transfer Effectively Between Backhand and Forehand

Hi, guys, what’s up. It’s Yangyang here Today I will teach you how use weight transfer between backhand and forehand topspin. We’ve already learned how to use weight transfer during forehand topspin from my previous video, please click the link here to for more details, just in case you missed But in the game, the ball alwasys coming to our backhand and forehand randomly, How could we transfer our weight fast and effectively so that we could not only get ready for the shot but also perfom a powerful shot. So how could we use weight transfer between backhand and forehand topspin. Plz stick to the video, you will find out shortly. Before we go into the details about weight transfer between backhand and forehand I want to take about backhand topspin weight transfer first. After you predict the ball is coming to your left, move your body to the left side, and put weight on your left leg this time rotate upper body counterclockwise, swing your arm back, but not back too far like this. After the ball bounces on the table, rotate your upper body clockwise and swing your arm to your right side but not too far, right side but forwards and then move your weight from left leg to right leg The difference of weight transfer between forehand topspin and backhand topspin is Backhand topspin, the range of weight transfer is much shorter like this You don’t really need to transfer weight like this, that’s too much Smaller, get the weight transfer feeling, that is fine in order to do the weight transfer correctly between backhand and forehand topspin we have to learn an easy foot work exercise first, so, bend your back, knees, put your body weight lower like this, Then we gonna do from right to left, left to right. plz do it with me, one, two, one, two After we learned weight transfer during forehand topspin and backhand topspin I think you’ve already known how to use weight transfer from backhand to forehand you just don’t know you know already If every shot starts from center, and recover to the center So, all we need to do is to put two shots together Let’s see center, weight transfer at backhand, come back to center Then move to your forehand weight transfer, move to the center, move to your backhand That’s it, this is the easy version for you The simple version is for beginners, If you think you feel comfortable with that, I am going to teach the advanced version. For advanced version, The only difference from the beginning version to shorten the time you are in the center which means, right after your backhand topspin, your weight is on your right leg, right? Then you move directly to your forehand side weight transfer to your left leg, then move directly to backhand side. So, we don’t spend a lot of time in the center anymore. After one shot we go directly to the other shot This movement requires the strength from your legs, to transfer weight faster and also requires your hip to rotation your upper body faster You could practice this exercise at home Alright, that’s all for this lesson.
