September 12, 2019

The midfielder made an appearance on Sky s’ Soccer AM on Saturday morning – the day after his side knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup  Friday evening’s game at the Emirates produced four goals, as United comfortably beat Arsenal 3-1  Lingard scored the second goal of the game, repeating his heroics from last season’s Premier League contest in north London, which also ended 3-1  And the 26-year-old, during his Soccer AM appearance, spoke of the the way he and his team-mates have changed the way they play – while aiming a warning at Liverpool   “Our way of playing has changed. Next time against Liverpool? We’ll win,” he said  The last time United took on Liverpool, they lost 3-1 at Anfield, ultimately resulting in Jose Mourinho’s sacking  Since then, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won eight games out of eight. The Norwegian spoke of his side’s recent dominance after his side’s near-faultless display against Unai Emery’s men, comparing the team with United’s sides of old  “Today we looked more like a proper team. We looked more structured. We’d worked hard at defending and counter-attacking,” he said  “Counter-attacking is classic Manchester United – Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ji Sung-park – we’ve scored so many at Arsenal over the years  “Today was a big step forward. It was a massive improvement from the Tottenham game  “It’s easy to get excited and talk about the future but we need to just keep working and think about the next game  “We had to dig deep. The attitude and work-rate was important. Towards the end it was comfortable but not during the 9 minutes ” United have tougher tests to come in February, though, as they look to contend with a PSG in the Champions League  United were knocked out of the Champions League last season by Sevilla at the last-16 stage  Solskjaer will be hoping his side can maintain their winning run, however, as the 45-year-old bids to keep the interim job beyond the end of the season
