Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal joined forces to play doubles for Europe in the Laver Cup. The fiercest rivalry in the history of the game was put to one side for two thrilling hours. Players and fans around the world celebrated the rare moment in the history of the sport. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if they will team up again in 2018 when the Laver Cup heads to Chicago. The duo are back on top of the world with Nadal ending the year as world No 2 and Federer as No 2. They won all four Grand Slams between them with Federer taking the Australian Open and Wimbledon and Nadal winning the French and US. Neither men were able to maintain their form in the final event of the year however at the ATP Finals in London. Nadal could only manage one match before withdrawing through injury while Federer was beaten by David Goffin in the the knockouts. But both are expected to challenge for the Australian Open at the start of next year.
