Hi I am Garbiñe Muguruza, I hope I will have
a lot of fans this year, here in Wimbledon Garbiñe how are you? Well I am fine I am actually very happy to
be here, you know… dressed not in sports clothes enjoying the night. Are you excited for the Wimbledon start? Are
you nervous whats your feelings? Well I am not nervous so far, I think I still
have a lot of days to prepare for the tournament I am very excited to be back, I love playing
this tournament of course so will see if Iam ready How do you feel about thousands and thousands of spectators
looking at you play their favourite game? Whats your thoughts on that? Well, I feel very luck, you know, I love what
I am doing and to be able to go out there perform my show and be able to enjoy and feel
the adrinaline and emotion you can feel out there! and I don’t know I LOVE IT

Wimbledon 2017 Final Women: Garbine Muguruza BEATS Serena Williams HIGHLIGHTS

Garbine Muguruza beat Serena Williams in the
Wimbledon final. The Spanish tennis player overcame two set
points by Venus Williams to rally and win the first set en route to a 7-5, 6-0 victory
over the 37 year old American. Williams was trying to become the oldest woman
in the Open era to win a Grand Slam title. Muguruza lost to Serena Williams in the 2015
Wimbledon final. She came back with a vengeance and never lost
a single game. She broke Venus’ serve three times in the
second set as part of a win-game run. It ended when Williams hit a shot that landed
long, but was ruled in. Muguruza challenged the call and after a bit
of a delay, the review showed that the ball was out. Muguruza waited in anticipation and waited
to celebrate. But she eventually fell to her knees and covered
her face as tears arrived. The 23 year old said, “When I was a little
girl I was watching these finals. I was watching Venus –– I know it sounds
incredible. TO be able to play against her and now hold

Garbiñe Muguruza Wimbledon 2017 pre-final press conference

I’m feeling pretty good. I think it’s
a good moment right now. It goes very fast. So I’m trying
to enjoy it. The previous times, you know, you’re so
concentrated that you cannot enjoy as well. I know tomorrow I’m looking forward to
go on to the court. My last match here. Try to change things after the last two years.
That’s it. Just trying to enjoy also. Q. Venus Williams is the oldest women’s
singles player to reach the final since Martina Navratilova. She’s 37 years old.
What are your thoughts about that? Well, I think it’s very impressive.
I think not everybody can do that. It goes a lot, you know, with the strength
of your body, your style of game. For me, it’s incredible. I don’t think
I could be 37 and playing that level. You know, that final that I had
helped me a lot to figure out a way to play better on grass, because
before I was not very experienced. I had never played a lot of tournaments.
It was just a very surprising moment when you reach a final in a tournament where
you thought it was going to be difficult. Right now I know how to
play more on grass. I think my mind is more equipped
this time because the more experience you get, the more you know
how to deal with these situations, because they’re very special. If you
felt it before, it’s really helpful. So I just have more information about the situation. Well, I think we both have very
aggressive games. I think the serve is going to be very important,
because she has a pretty big serve. I try to have a big one, as well.
Probably being aggressive, you know, serve, all this.
Fast points are important.

Garbiñe Muguruza Wimbledon 2017 semi-final press conference

I wasn’t expecting anything because
I didn’t know — you never know how it’s going to go, the match.
I saw her play before. I saw she was playing very
good, very talented. Just went out there, you know,
and didn’t expect anything. Just expected myself to be
ready as much as I could. Maybe the score did look
maybe more easier than actually playing during the games. I feel much more calm, kind of
controlling more my emotions than the last time.
It was more new for me also. And, yeah, it’s a big change. Just for me it’s incredible
to be here in another final, because it means a lot. It’s a
Grand Slam. I lost two years ago one, so I really look forward this
one to try to change that. I feel right now like what
I imagine when I was younger. Just incredible tournament,
the crowd, the court, you know, what makes Wimbledon special.
I think I’m not that far actually how I imagined when I was a little girl. All the great champions
has won this tournament. I always stare at the wall
where all the names are of the previous winners. There is
a lot actually that are repetitive. But I don’t know. I would like
to see my name there hopefully. And I don’t really think a lot.
You know, I’m here, I have another chance. I’m trying to be simple,
and that’s it. All the names that I read,
I know all of them. For the last years,
you see a lot of Williams surname. So I look forward to just
have it there. I don’t know, to put a Spanish name back there. Everybody has equal chances.
Everybody’s 50/50. Only one’s going to win.
So, you know, maybe the names are in the paper more favourites.
But after, the racquet has to talk. So sometimes doesn’t really matter.

Wimbledon 2017 – Soundbites of day 12

I try to block all this kind of stuff.
I learned since the last Grand Slam match. I’m like, Doesn’t matter
who is the favourite here. We both have 50/50 chances today. Q: I’m talking sentimentally
favourite, for the people. For the people. Q: She’s 37, older, like Martina. But we want new names and new faces, so c’mon. I’ve always been a Federer fan.
I think if you’re not, it’s kind of uncool. So wish him the best of luck. Probably just hang out with the friends.
I haven’t had Indian food yet. I love the Indian food here.
I’m definitely going to go to Indian tonight. Q: Who of the male finalists tomorrow
night would you like to dance with? Oh, c’mon. Q: No, c’mon. Roger. And I like Cilic,
I have to say seriously. But I want to see if he’s
that elegant also dancing.

I’m happy. I was just, you know,
nervous to play first round. You never know how it’s going to go. Pretty happy with my performance.
Didn’t play my best tennis. But I wasn’t thinking that
today I was going to play either. But happy these tough matches I’m handling well. I’m hungry, you know, to do well here,
to try be in that position again kind of. But for sure is just a different situation now that that passed,
and I don’t have that in front of me. That’s gone already.
It’s not that different
because I work with her during the Fed Cup weeks, and also before in Barcelona
she was helping me as well few days here and there. It’s actually, you know, relaxed and funny
because we get along very well. She knows how to play here.
So I love it.

Well it means a lot you know especially
to that final unless you’re losing in second round to be able to, I don’t know,
you know go deep in the tournament and still with chances is I’m very
happy and very pleased also with with this match because obviously you
could not saw it’s a very tough opponent, we all know she has been and is a
great player, and I managed to play a good level during all the match and I
am in the victory. I think just knowing how to deal with these important matches
I think that’s the toughest part you know knowing that you got there and you’re
playing, you know, quarter-finals of Wimbledon. That is, you know, the match
that you want to go and play and win so it’s also a combination of not being too
anxious, not being too nervous, try to free your mind just try to concentrate
on the tennis part and not about everything else. Well I think I’ve been
working on that since a long time and before was kind of more emotional
because, you know, I was showing more emotion on the court now I’m trying to
handle it better and I think this experience like I said before, the year
that I make final here I felt like I was a completely different player, you know,
now I feel maybe more solid mentally going out there and know what to do so
it’s I think with experience in the years.

Garbiñe Muguruza Wimbledon 2017 third round press conference

Yeah, I’m feeling pretty good. I felt today I improve a little bit my
game compared to the previous matches. I’m happy the way I’m,
you know, playing out there. It’s not easy. I’m working hard. I’m kind of doing what
I’m working on, so… Maybe everybody’s thinking,
Oh, what a nice chance. But I got to go out
there and make that true. I’m motivated. I have toughest rounds to come. I’m just looking
forward for it. I’m not thinking that far,
like most people do. Maybe they’re thinking, Who am I
playing next round, the next round? They’re making the
whole speculation thing. For me, it’s just
more simple than that. I’m just going to take care of my
next match and we see from there.
