Tennis Doubles Strategy : Net Position in Doubles Tennis

October 24, 2019

Hi, I’m Jason Gerardo at Gold Key Racquet
Club in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, what I am
going to talk to you about is, I’m going to talk to you is about the net person on the
serving side. Now, this person over here, this player is, should be the most powerful
person on the court out of all four players. This person should control the court. This
person gets in the eye of the returner. This person gets in the eye of the net person.
This person also helps out the server. So, we talk about the positioning and the movement
of this player at the net. Very aggressive. Very, very active. You want to be active up
here. So, for example, my partner, me knowing and I’m going to know this, my partner is
serving to the T. He’s already told me that, whether I’ve given him a signal, whether he’s
communicated verbally. I know he’s serving to the T. I know, that once that ball crosses
the net, I here it struck and the ball crosses the net I can make my move towards that T
because he will no longer have the angle to go down my line. So, for example right here,
my server goes to the T. My movement is this, I see it cross the net. Now, I can make that
move because he can no longer go down my line.
