Tennis Drill – Learning to Serve Harder by Improving the Arm Action

November 8, 2019

For those players that are already comfortable serving with a Continental grip, the next step is to increase the speed of the serve.
In order to do that you have to practice pronating the forearm and rotating the shoulder. An
exercise that does both is the following: You ar going to toss the ball and you are
going to try to spike the ball keeping your arm up. Do that as fast as you can.

Doesn’t pronation just automatically happen if you have a throwing motion? You can get a harder serve by staying loose and accelerating
